Answer:-

Introduction

This paper discusses three videos and on the basis of that certain questions need to be answered. The video discusses about the ethics in business culture and the ideas related to empathic side of the human being. The video also mentions about the ethical issues like dishonesty, along with business concepts, and how the managers tries to motivate the employees and initiate the innovation within an organization.

THE ETHICS OF CONSUMPTION

1 - What is the main message of this video?

The main message of this video is that charity doesn’t degrade or either demoralized. The video explains that theft degrades and even demoralizes, where else charity humanize it. Even Zizek believes that it is quite immoral to make use of pivet property (Zizek, 2011).

2 - What can you learn from it that applies to your understanding of business, society, managing or employment?

The content mentioned by the video states that product of something might be wrong. It explains that capitalism often tries to create different sort of wrong things for the people all over the world, and in various disparities like social, economic or cultural, and then people view and sympathize it, and try to do something about it (Röcklinsberg & Sandin, 2013). Society tries to give money to the charity for the purpose of resolving the problems. Businesses try to do charity for saving their money from taxes. Due to these cases, people and businesses feel satisfied (Röcklinsberg & Sandin, 2013). The broader concept is that they are inextricably complicated and do more wrong. The video gives the example of Starbucks that fails in bringing change in social reality of increasing poverty (Röcklinsberg & Sandin, 2013). The video mentions that state are usually part of ruling class that tries to oppress the laborers and tries to divert the revolutionary rage, which perpetuates the global capital. It even stresses over capitalist for maintaining the law and order and take the burden of governance (Röcklinsberg & Sandin, 2013).

3 - In what way can you connect it to the inter-relationship of business, ethic, education and law?

The concept of charity discussed in the video explains that genuinely there are good people who view impoverishment all over the globe, and view it by virtue to become part of corporatism and consumerism, and try to contribute in impoverishment and try to bring the change and political reform (Craig, 2006). Ethical consumerism and charity might not be considered as the cure of disease, which is rotten deep inside the capitalism system, and it’s not easy to stop people from doing charity or becoming ethical consumers (Harrison, Newholm & Shaw, 2005). It could be tried to educate people and push the unethical corporations by the consumer choices, so that they could start working ethically, and try to control better supply chains, protect the environment as well as human rights (Harrison, Newholm & Shaw, 2005).

THE EMPATHIC CIVILIZATION

1 - What is the main message of this video?

This video tries to discuss the rational argument, which tries to augment the necessity to heal and move towards the evolved capacity of brains in order to view the entire universe as all (Stephenson, 2010). The feeling of ‘knowing’ makes the person free from every wrong belief related to the narrow traditions and individual is able to expand all possibilities. The video gives the message, when people are engaged and supports others along with cooperate or collaborative, they actually learn at the accelerated rate (Stephenson, 2010).

2 - What can you learn from it that applies to your understanding of business, society, managing or employment?

It is learned from the video that empathy is referred as the ability to share the feelings with one another, and even understand others who are suffering from desire to alleviate it are often related with pro-social behavior (Rifkin, 2009). The concept of empathy could be related with business and society, because more the people feel compassionate with others, the more they are actually able to act in the manner to support others that might also leave positive impact over the functioning of the society and business (Jones, Pykett & Whitehead, 2013). The main question is that how empathy could be boosted for enhancing its effect.

The video makes an attempt to determine the underlying empathy causes, which explore the selflessness motivated empathy, and fail to explore the strong sense of self (Jones, Pykett & Whitehead, 2013). The video also helps in understanding about self esteem of the one who are ruthless and try to hurt other person for their personal benefit, but reality they hold poor sense of the self, which is required to be supported through bullying from others (Jones, Pykett & Whitehead, 2013). This concept goes with managers who need to handle their team, and for them they should be emotionally healthy and happy that could relate with more positive attitude and compassion with others (Jones, Pykett & Whitehead, 2013).

3 - In what way can you connect it to the inter-relationship of business, ethic, education and law?

The concept of empathy could be related with business, ethics, education and law, as the more we try to improve the self concept of an individual the more they would be able to enhance the empathy, pro-social behavior as well as compassion for each other, and in business this concept is quite helpful (Jones, Pykett & Whitehead, 2013). The concept of empathy could lead to ethical behavior and for attaining such behavior the awareness of meditation and compassion meditation could be created and the same could be initiated through education. The cumulative impact could try to increase the sense of self (Rifkin, 2010). The video of Empathic civilization stress over the increase in empathy for one another and association with geographic, racial and religious groups, which could support in empathize the whole world. If the sense of empathy is increase in society and business, then laws could work in proper way (Rifkin, 2010).

THE TRUTH ABOUT DISHONESTY

1 - What is the main message of this video?

This video discuss about the cheating behavior of individuals in different areas, whether they are at college, business or anywhere else (Stephenson, 2012). The video mentions that people cheat in different conditions, and Dan Ariely also came with the fudge factor dishonesty theory, that mentions that as long as one cheats for small amount, they could benefit from cheating and view itself as good person (Stephenson, 2012). This video depicts the dangerous beliefs that are quite inherent in our society such as the rules for undertaking transaction is fair, but the break of this rule is done through immoral way of cheating (Stephenson, 2012).

2 - What can you learn from it that applies to your understanding of business, society, managing or employment?

This video is helpful in understanding about big cheaters in organizations and outside the companies. There is evidence that people holding high position, power or either authority often adopt the sociopathic or either psychotic tendencies (Ariely, 2012). People who are holding the position of authority often believe that they hold the exceptional skills and they are even exempted from the laws and often get dishonest in their talks and in actions (Ariely, 2012). This problem could be seen in society and in business organization, where people holding high position holds the power of decision making and they might take the decision in their favor and even try to hide the information from junior level (Ariely, 2012). The video clearly mentions that people at high level even exhibit the high tendency towards having the magical thinking by believes that they could impact the results of the random events. These people are so dishonest that they even believe that they are so important to even hold accountable for violating the laws. The video presents the example of downloading videos and violating the law of piracy (Pink, 2010).

3 - In what way can you connect it to the inter-relationship of business, ethic, education and law?

The problem discussed in the video is related to dishonesty and this problem could be interrelated with business. Due to the problem of dishonesty many ethical issues occur in the companies that, even lead to the violation of laws and criminal activities (Ariely, 2013). The problem of dishonesty identified from one employees or group of people could create the culture of dishonesty in the organization and might impact the organizational environment (Ariely, 2013). Therefore, it is expected that strict actions needs to be taken and strict laws need to be imposed in the organization (Ariely, 2013). It is learned from the video that dishonesty could be reduced through taking various actions like taking pledge as well as moral reminder for the employees, so that cheating and problem of dishonesty could be decreased (Ariely, 2013). The company could even take signature of employees in advance, so that if any problem occur in future, they will be held responsible for it (Ariely, 2013).

Conclusion

It can be concluded that ethical practices need to be implemented in the company and business organizations should act ethically by cooperating with others.
